Nobody born in the last 60 years has used KAYO to mean KO.
@Francis If you're looking for the real answer, it's due to the fact that (at the time of the coining of "saturnine"), Saturn was the furthest and coldest planet from the sun. Thus, those of "saturnine" dispositions were aloof and icy.
Initially, I confidently filled in OsTeO for 36A. I didn't realize my error until I was met with AsSPOETICA... whoops! 😅
@KStandiford Feel free to tell your husband that 400s and 500s are both errors. 500s are server errors and 400s are client errors.
@Dan "Won" here refers to the currency of South Korea. So you might say KOREA is "land of the won"
@Hi hi Because I wasn't born in the 18th century?
Had to double check a couple times that I was, in fact, solving the Thursday puzzle.
@Dave Munger Although the I isn’t in TOPTEN, it is still discernible even without knowing what a Neti Pot is. The I in NETIPOT is also the I in the vertical circles, which spell INSIDE. And as the revealer says, you need to take the INSIDE out! Totally agree with you on HEAVIES though, strange clueing
@Tracy Overhand? Sure. Underarm? I guess. Overarm? Never once
@Dan I took "Intro to Digital Logic", "Intro to Statistics", "Intro to Econ", among others. Can't recall a single class with the *prefix* INTRO as opposed to the word INTRO.
@Captain Quahog then the clue should be [Cricket throwing style].
@Katie Definitely felt like either a Wednesday puzzle with obtuse cluing or a Friday puzzle with a half "theme"
