Good morning, solvers! Re: any technical difficulties you might have with today's puzzle: The issue fixes itself if you update to the most current version of the NYT Games app.

For solvers of Pips or the Midi Crossword, or anyone interested in learning more about how our games are made, Games editor Ian Livengood will be answering your questions tomorrow, right here in the Wordplay comments section. Hope to see you there!

Hi solvers! So glad you enjoyed John Ruff's puzzle. This was a fun one to solve and write about. A small announcement: I'm working on an article about streaks. Breaking them, keeping them, using them to stay in touch with your loved ones — I want to hear your stories about them. If you've ever done anything drastic to keep your streak, or simply have strong feelings about them, fill out this form. I'm looking forward to reading your stories and I may reach out to ask for more info. All the key details can be found here: https://nyti.ms/4nx7yJZ

We published this cute little guide to our community forums today and y'all are the OGs, so I wanted to make sure you saw it! https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/30/crosswords/gameplay-forums.html#commentsContainer
