Unless I'm being thick there are 8 unchecked squares in this puzzle which I thought was a big no-no. I found the theme underwhelming and a huge amount of junk fill made this a slog for me

Wasn't expecting so many proper names and naticks on a Monday

This was my least favourite puzzle in a very long time.

Adolfo crossing ldopa would be unforgivable in a weekend puzzle, let alone a Tuesday.

Bwana crossing nemea is not very kind. Never heard of a panloaf

I like a good rebus puzzle, unfortunately this was not one of them

Maybe it's just my accent but para and pair of sound nothing alike to me. Easy enough solve anyway

Heels was not the five letter word that first came to mind for that clue

Pretty easy for a Thursday but reasonably enjoyable. Butter from a farm was a nice misdirect, could have used more clues like that

Superb! I loved the theme, it must have taken some work to find enough words to work that way. The in a nutshell one was the first I got and it had me chuckling.

Find this one quite easy personally (except oleato - sounds vile) but a neat theme well executed

Nice Monday puzzle

One of my most satisfying solves I can remember, numerous attempts over about 12 hours, I finally removed the paper after emery and it all fell magically into place. The best type of Saturday puzzle in my book, really challenging with nothing at all unfair

That was tough, more like a Saturday than a Friday for me but got there in the end and a very satisfying solve. Windy flight a particular highlight

I liked the theme, however not a fan of Sasson crossing Samlet and Ned. Also seemed like way too many 3 letter answers

Knew before reading the comments this would be a lovely it or hate it kind of day. Personally I enjoyed the clever riddle although I had to come to the column to work out why the final I was correct. The fill was a bit too easy though

Hate it when Friday and Saturday are the wrong way round

A few answers I didn't understand until looking them up, mores for example, but nothing unfair and the right level of difficulty for a Friday imo

Was very surprised when I entered the final K of Kablooey and got the gold star. Enjoyable puzzle but there were a couple of clues that I just don't get. Tour de force - why four stars specifically? And soonest - something to do with line of succession? Doesn't quite work for me but might be missing something

Fun puzzle but too easy for a Thursday, and I agree with others that Jack of diamonds is not an acceptable clue for Jackie Robinson

First time I managed to complete a solve with just the down clues. I have been trying for a few months on Mon and Tues but have always come up short before

Shortly after one of the worst Sunday puzzles comes probably the worst Wednesday puzzle I've ever done. The theme adds nothing to the solve, there are by my count 36 3 letter answers (surely a record) and there's still room for junky answers like reseeded, sunoco and others.

I really enjoyed this one and the fact the numerals double from top to bottom was an extra nice touch

Very neat theme and a couple of the clues were so tough that I got the answers through crossers and had to read this article to work them out (eye and abbot). Excellent puzzle

I had doubleo as ooseven for ages which stuck me for a while, that and the bank security misdirect, I had lever for levee. There were a couple of naticks in there but I managed to guess my way out of them. Nitpick of the day - most Americans may have an SSN memorised, most people do not

Perfect Friday puzzle with nice lively entries, minimal gunk and some great wordplay. End of a lap and withholding details were particularly good

Filled out almost the whole grid before finally figuring out it was looking for yes rather than a variant on no's, then it all fell into place. What a Thursday should be like imo
