This is the first Wednesday puzzle I’ve completed without help in a long time. What’s the reason? A strike of genius? A bolt of brain energy? A spell of some kind? Staying fully hydrated? Whatever the reason(s), it was a perfect storm. ⚡️🗞️

I know I will be in the minority as well, but please don’t ever do this again. Just like rebuses, this goes against what a traditional crossword is testing me on. I hated it and did not even try to finish.

@Liz Same here. I wish the NYT would flag which puzzles have rebuses so I can avoid them altogether. For now I guess I’ll just have to keep skipping Thursday.

Psst, it’s the Repo Man. Hope you’ve had your chow, translucent, boulder opal. The oral report is due today. And Lola, having the opportunity to watch carefully, has given in to her earthly genes. She OKs the Lie-In at PETA dot org. Full of ire, I can see her need to belt out a song. The odious mink, (throne TBD), has promised to oust those treats of brie at 1,000 mph. Scat ‘til you feel it in your fibula. Suit yourself. Your savings could not pay all the Drs that NYE. Align yourself. Nevermind the ado. Coin a new fashion-forward milieu. Emit a sweet tune in Gabriel’s Horn. As to the detritus, let’s hope it all rots in the wake of a lone oboe playing to a Dahl waltz.
