@MmmmHmm I always type the 16 words into NotePad, and solve it there first. Many times, I will find 5 words that fit a category, and have to work out which one to pull somewhere else. Is that considered cheating?
@Mean Old Lady Thanks. I missed the quadrant location of the vowels. BTW - I like to use the Mini and Midi as warm ups. They serve to get me in the crossword mind-set.
Can someone please explain the gimmick (if there was one) in the Midi? I saw the bold-type first letter in each clue, and noted that they were all vowels. Also, each quadrant of the grid seemed to be shaded in a color? Unfortunately, since I am color blind, I can't identify the colors. In fact, the letters just appeared to be blurry until I finally clued into the shading. What did this all mean? Many thanks.
