This is a record for me. 1 hour and 23 minutes!
Theme: those were a far reach, very far!
Nice debut, man! Super fun solve.
@njs I like the alternate "Fix up a joint".
Wow Peter Gordon, that is a nice crunchy Saturday puzzle. Some very challenging clues and LOL cluing too. I think that's the first time I've seen that ballerina's name in a puzzle. My sister was a dancer and that person was one of her favorites. Thanks!
Appropriate photo. Evil genius with a rescue cat. Good puzzle Ryan Judge.
I thought the little pictures of hats and balloons were going to figure into the solving somehow.
It's hard for us old people to refrain from complaining. It comes so naturally to us! This was a fun puzzle to solve. It took a while and lots of back & forth, up & down. I liked the clueing. Boom Roasted was the only one that had my head spinning.
Excellent Saturday puzzle. Fun.
Mother and daughter duo. How great is that. Excellent puzzle.
Hannah Slovut-Einertson: this is a terrific puzzle. Tricky and fun.
I admire the clue-ing, including some good red herrings. I learned about Miss La La and looked at the painting and I'm glad for this new knowledge. Chessboxing was new to me. As was eboy or e-boy? In online photos, the style looks like reheated goth+skater. They weren't hard to guess due to the Down answers. A good Saturday puzzle. Zeitgeisty was a first and probably a last!
Mr. Perkins, it took me a while to solve the theme, and then, with pleasure. I like the image of your crew running around the couch too. Deb, just a simple thank you very much, for now.
Thank you to the late great Democratic Governor of Texas Ann Richards. That was the first time I heard "that old dog won't hunt" and it helped me out today. It slowed me down a bit but Ben 'n' Julian are forgiven for using "don't" instead of "won't".
Toughie! in a good way.
Excellent puzzle. I went through a couple of times without getting much more than the magic mushrooms. It took me a while to come up with "You might sit for one"!
First & second run-through I thought I'd never solve, but I did it. Toughie.
Robyn Weintraub, here's a clue to how I feel about your puzzle today: What day comes two days before Easter?
Humph. That was downright painful. Took me 55 minutes to solve. Did I not get enough caffeine this morning?
And the clues lit up my brain! Loved the 2 space clues. Way out. They can't sleep there! Thank you Ms. EHW.
17A hilarious clue. Nice puzzle.
Gnarly! Took me longer than usual, but puzzles aren't fun if they're too easy, so I have to thank Mr. Knapp. The way the space was broken up made it hard even when one corner area was solved. I always like to see X,Q and J.
Carolyn, perfect for a Saturday with some fun clues too.
I feel a thrill when I see stacks!
Clever clues and some words and phrases not often seen in the puzzle. Fun!
That was a bit of a slog, 51 minutes. Not much fun.
Trust Sam E to come up with a tough puzzle with red herrings. Took me a whole hour but I wouldn't surrender! Good one.
Alright, but I thought it was going to light up.
The cleverness of the themes these constructors dream up!!
These must be the most LOL theme answers I've ever seen! Clever cluing too.
Clever theme, fun to solve.
Pooh-pooh and Hubba Hubba: hilarious clues!
Super fun, brilliant clueing!
This is the fastest I've ever solved a triple stacks puzzle. Kinda easy for a Saturday, right?
Great debut! Fun puzzle, funny clues.
Oh Lord, that nickel-back. I filled in the rebus so it made sense but I failed to get the joke. Good one!
The theme? There's clever and there's tries too hard to be clever.
Aw, no theme on a Sunday. What fun is that.
Although [38-Down], the clues were Funyuns.
The theme is clever and fun, but my favorite clue is 13 Down Fly by night...or by day.
Proper amount of toughness for a Friday. I love it when I go through all the clues with few fill-ins, but solve it in the end!
Great Saturday puzzle. Thanks Nick Maritz.
Thanks Mr Sheremata! Great clues, fun puzzle.
What an elegant grid! Fun solve. Loved the Deflection technique and 1st trimester woes, LOL.
