This was a nice clever Tuesday puzzle! Thank you! It’s my birthday and this was a great way to start it! 🥳

Ok—“fighting iris” is the funniest crossword answer ever. I know it wasn’t the actual answer. But the idea of it is just cracking me up. I keep picturing this ferocious little eyeball and I’m dissolving in laughter. 🤣🤺👁️ Thanks Mr. McCoy!

I lost my dad on January 6, nine years ago— such a dreary time of year, a funeral in the snow, but I’m always so happy we had the holidays together. I hope you did as well and I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing and making me think of my dad today. You’re not alone <3

This was such a great Monday. Appropriately quick to solve but clever and not boring. Didn’t realized the creator was a beloved puzzle maker till I checked the comments but it makes perfect sense! Now I am a fan too!

I enjoyed this one! Solved it before I figured out the theme, so that was like a fun little extra puzzle to figure out.

For some reason we think the NATO alphabet is hilarious in our house and use it to spell things just to be silly so I especially like this puzzle. Putting polar instead of panda slowed me down. My quibble in recent puzzles—using full names without any clever warning or indication. Seems to defy convention. I will adjust if I must :)

@JC oh dear. I know you are joking but love this idea. I am in a mixed marriage where my husband literally jumps up and down in disgust and frustration if there is a rebus. I on the other hand am intrigued at your mention of hand drawn maps…

I swear like a sailor, but (!) I somehow do not enjoy finding the word ‘butt’ in my NYT crossword. Even after I had guessed it I hoped it was not the answer. It was obvious AND vulgar—one or the other might be ok. Solved this more quickly than usual. Liked Shakespeare and Beyoncé refs.

This puzzle made me so happy! I had it correctly solved but didn’t “get it” at first so I got to have a second puzzle within the puzzle figuring out why the punctuation marks were used. So fun and clever. Who knew listening to that much GnR in my twenties would come in handy? Thanks for a great puzzle!

Did anyone else read A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver by E. L. Konigsburg when they were little? I loved it and I loved Eleanor of Aquitaine. I still use this quote all the time: “Indecision wears a person out, and Eleanor was never weary.” So fun to have this clue!

I was a little fussy about photo OPS, because I think making it plural is a stretch. I was also fussy about DERAIL because I think of it as transitive but I looked it up and it can indeed also be intransitive so thank you for teaching me something new! And then I solved it and saw the theme and the pun and I ceased to be fussy at all. Thank you for a fun puzzle! :)
