I laughed out loud when the crosses spelled “HANDY NASTY” and I wondered what that clue could be! It was for HAN DYNASTY, of course.
Cesar Milán should not qualify for this publication. Veterinary behaviorists have denounced his methods as setting training back about 50 years.
@Shawn Marie Strands has been re-released, at least on the app. I solved the original a little over an hour ago. My mom just sent my her Strands score and it was a different puzzle. Of course, it’s 10:45 am on the east coast so pretty late to change it, but I’m still relieved.
Wow, that NW corner really had me! It was a nice, challenging Saturday puzzle. Well done! Plus, I learned about a spider; love these fun facts.
It was a tough one, but gave me extra time on the sofa with coffee, as solving my puzzle was all I committed to doing on Mother’s Day! I do it in the magazine and then transfer to the app. I was happy to do so without typos today.
@Turing mine was a 253 day streak, and hit hung up in the exact spots as you, with ZERO MOSTEL / PRATE /EREBUS. Had KONA (coffee!) and finally thought to try KOLA (cola?) and hit the music. Toughest Wednesday in some time. Now I’m at 254, whew!
@Barry Ancona understood. I just have a visceral reaction to that name!
@Sean M. “Central Perk” has nothing to do with “benefits” in this puzzle. It’s the name of the coffeehouse that was at the heart of the show called Friends.
@Douglas Came to comments to find out if this was my issue. Sorry you lost your streak, but you did save mine!
@mesnenor I was panicked, could not work out how a grid like that would be a gimmick related to nuclear fusion!
@Confused Kiwi took me until the end to see that it was BRA PADS, two words.
