The underlined letters did not show up in the app version of the puzzle. Such poor execution of what would have been a great puzzle. Why wasn’t there a notice on the app or something? They could have found a way to communicate the hint. And the fact that Wordplay had the underlined letters at the start of the article made no sense. Who reads the article before solving the puzzle? An unnecessarily frustrating solve to say the least.

As a fluent Hebrew speaking I am livid. “Fathers, in Hebrew” is NOT abbas. “Abba” is father, “avot” or “abot” is fathers. Extremely poor.

Anyone else feel that Wednesdays have been consistently solving a lot like Thursdays? This was clever, just a little tougher than I expect for Wednesday.

How was anyone that is not Chinese supposed to get 51 across?? My company actually celebrated lunar new year so I was able to get the reference but to know the greeting for it?? And how to spell it! Seems a little ridiculous for a clue that took up so much real estate.

Oof. Didn't really enjoy this one. The theme was cute but the puzzle was too densely populated with random trivia that I couldn't appreciate it. In general, I am annoyed by trivia/ names crossing each other but this puzzle was unhinged- who approved the southwest quadrant?? I found myself unsatisfied with the solve even after I got my gold star. The meager attempts at clever clues (cannibals, I'm looking at you) fell quite short in my opinion.

This was a perfect Wednesday IMO. It was clever, had enough challenge to keep me on my toes but was still accessible and I was able to solve in one sitting. I also loved the theme, so cute!

Puzzles like this leave me in awe of creators. The creativity and construction is a true wonder. Thoroughly enjoyed this solve and marveled at all the themed answers.

It was a fun solve but the revealer was super weak.

I found a bunch of clues to be forced. Usually after finally cracking a hard clue I smile to myself but in this case I just stared at the screen wearily, not finding them clever at all. The solve wasn’t worth the effort in my opinion.

Great puzzle. I really enjoyed! I felt like it was the right balance of trivia and word play.

Loved this puzzle! Great theme and the right balance of accessible clues and head scratchers. The perfect Thursday IMO.
