@Heidi I think the NYT Crossword would be tres boring if year after year puzzle themes correlated with the holidays. Much more enjoyable to encounter the unexpected. I adored today’s. Perhaps a Bastille Day-themed puzzle could be found in the archives. It would be great if the archives were searchable by date.

@Dale M. Manually. But there’sno search function, right? Scrolling back through each month? I would love to know if there’s a quicker way. FYI I’m in the app on my iPhone. For rebuses I’m in the Times app… …where was able, on my iPhone, to see the animation yesterday. I checked just to see and it worked :)
