I dunno… maybe I’m just “old school”. I’ve been doing the Sunday Puzzle for 55+ years, and I liked them better when the answers were actual words… not cutesy little phrases. But I can live with the cutesy phrases. Oh well…. The “themes”, though…. Most are OK, but OMG: I like crossword puzzles because they’re crossWORD puzzles. Too arcane, and they’re not word puzzles anymore. I like to spend half an hour on Saturday evenings with a crossWORD game… not deciphering the Enigma code!!! Leave that stuff for another puzzle… another day. …and then TODAY’S (7/6/25) ridiculous “theme”!!! Today’s was just plain stupid. Really a waste of time searching for the absurd “key”. NYT can do MUCH better than this.
