@Brett Everyone says SODA in St. Louis but pop is common in other parts of the state. As a kid we were in southern Missouri town diner and I asked for a soda. The server asked what kind to which I replied rootbeer. I remember being delightfully surprised when she returned with a rootbeer ice cream float.
