fake palms : face palms :: face plants : fake plants Crossword puzzle synchronicities are so fun
I got in a big fight with this puzzle this morning. We could not agree about what words mean. Went for a run and picked up groceries. When I got back, the puzzle and I were on better terms. We were able to come to a consensus at last that bones are dollars and a dry steam bed is a wash and noon is when strikes last longest, among many other quibbles. Sorry for being so difficult this morning, puzzle. You were right about everything all along, and delightfully so!
Kudos! I loved it! Made me vibe like music.
So fun! 35 down was the finishing stroke for me and put a bow on the whole clever puzzle. I love hearing that the letters "ice" don't appear in sequence anywhere else in the grid... neat!
@Sam Lyons I know some english words to that tune (or similar)- hey ho nobody's home/ Meat nor drink nor money have I none /Still i will be merry Sang it as a round hiking in the Adirondack mountains as a teen with friends. Definitely a good trekking song!
New game, what do you think: Spot the clues that have been edited to be easier. Submit your list to the chat. I'll go first: 84A "rowboat blades"
I misread 48D as "Features of lasagna or an ogre" Felt surprised at a random Shrek reference.
Humbling puzzle for me! NW corner took forever to click in. I'm writing this comment so that if this puzzle was super easy for you you can enjoy a smug feeling of superiority lol!! My favorite "cake wreck" quote says "The tossel was worth the hostel." Very much describes how I'm feeling with my gold star this morning.
@Niall Funny! I take the opposite tack - i get all the wordplay and rarely know the trivia. The puzzles work both ways apparently!
@Barry Ancona wish I could give this post multiple "recommend"s. Thank you for making me laugh out loud!
