Finally reached a 1000 day streak, felt like I was in the 900s for ages! This was the perfect 1000th puzzle, lots of fun 'aha!' moments - thanks Natan :)

This one took me 50% longer than my average time, but I loved it anyway - very satisfying once I finally solved it!

Enjoyed it overall, but agree with others that the highlighting should've worked both ways (not the fault of the constructor, I assume). Also, OREL x LEHAR and SNERD x DARIEN were very tricky crosses, in my opinion!

I think this is the fifth time Ayo has been mentioned in the crossword this year. As a fan, very cool to see :)

A poet crossed with a baseball manager? A sportscaster crossed with a director? Ooft. Fun puzzle though, despite the tricky spots!
