Some questionable wording today. I can't help but think there's a better way to clue ALI than to use someone assassinated a few months ago. And maybe a Simpsons clue about APU should be retired given that the show itself has mixed feelings about the stereotype and hasn't used him for almost 10 years. I wonder what type of stereotypes the author would accept...
@Petrol I'm devastated to be critical of you here, truly. I'm also horrified that my comment a mile down on a NY Times crossword column apparently managed to trigger you so badly that it ruined your day. I apologize if your fragile mental state was agitated - it was not my intent. I imagine that my histrionic comment ruined a fine red wine, brie and baguette that you were enjoying while German tourists ran through the Maginot Line.
