I enjoyed this puzzle, but it was quite an easy fill (felt "Monday") and ‒ while it's clever wordplay ‒ I didn't really use the theme while solving. I'd like to see this level of wordplay in the clues directly!

Fun! About average solve for my Thursdays, but I'm a huge sucker for Scrabble (BLANKBLANK is such a great answer). Part of me wishes there was more Scrabble-style and less Scrabble-trivia; but still a big fan of the themeless entries here: the clues for UND and SAMSON in particular! Overall, this is a very good crossword in a month of incredible Thursdays.

Easy week or am I getting better? Decent cluing but I would've expected something slightly more complicated for a Friday. Still a lot of fun: thanks!
