I’ve noticed for a while that some solutions are being repeated in quick succession. For example, two of yesterday’s solutions appear again in today’s crossword. This is not a criticism of the setters but I am wondering about the rigour of the NYT editing process. Or I might be in a minority of one?!?

Same answer appeared yesterday and today in the crossword (Sunday: 47 down and Monday: 16 across). Not great. Tighter editing needed?

@Katie I see your point and thanks for the response. It still seems odd to me but it may be because I’m used to UK crosswords.
