Easy to medium puzzle. People here are complaining about acceptably modern names being too obscure… I say bring on the contemporary references! Haven’t we clued enough film stars and playwrights from the 1930’s? The collective age of the crossword solvers (commenters?) is showing. I love it.

I truly hated this puzzle for the NW corner. A little too much trivia for me, not enough puzzle (serge, prose poet, etc.). No need to respond with your “it ACKSHUALLY wasn’t that hard” comments, I acknowledge I’m probably yelling at clouds… just a cathartic post for my own mental well-being.
