I’ve never understood the people here who complain about things like RAWR. You’re probably the same people who think there’s no good music anymore. Language, like any art form, doesn’t plateau just because you do. One of the reasons I love the NYT Crossword is because constructors continue to find new ways to incorporate contemporary language into their puzzles and I hope that continues long after I fail to understand what the kids these days are talking about. Also, I’d like to nominate Butt-dials/BOOTYCALLS for clue of the year so far. It was straight bussin, on god fr fr no cap fam.
@Jamie S Amazing that the constructors, editors and even Billboard itself are all wrong and you’re right. You should deprive yourself from experiencing a great Friday puzzle as a treat!
@Steve If giggling at people getting mad in the comments is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.
Although INUITS and TEED made me cringe, I loved this puzzle.
@Sheridyn Couldn’t agree more. As I was solving I kept thinking “This comment section is going to be a fun read.”
@Darren Sounds like a skill issue to me. Maybe just stick to Mondays until you can keep up with the more challenging puzzles of the week, Darren.
@Kotes Sometimes I find I’m just not on the same wavelength as the constructor and a puzzle becomes very tricky. Only a month in, it would be difficult for you to spot the usual fill like ASPS or OPI that help people like me who have been solving for years. You’ll get a lot better, promise. Never give up if you enjoy it. This is supposed to be fun!
@Carolyn As a geriatric millennial, I love the submitted clue way more. Awesome puzzle, thank you for a fun Friday solve.
