Whether it’s the clueing, the fill, the theme, or some combination of all of the above, this fell off the tricky/rewarding tightrope into the pit of frustration. Gap between developer ambition and user experience on display.
Terms and conditions are not synonyms. A condition is a requirement to be satisfied, while a term governs the use of something. Read together, the “terms and conditions” of a website or service detail the prerequisite upon which the user is permitted to access and use the service, and the manner in which it may be used.
Easily one of the best sundays in a while. Really nice construction, fill, and clueing. Great job
Making puzzles is hard but sometimes it can be even harder (and more rewarding) to acknowledge that the puzzle you made will not be enjoyable. This one should have been left in the drafts folder.
For a Tuesday I don’t think it was that tough but the fill in the top right was not great. Ehow is an obscure website. Crossing that with a contraction in a spoken phrase is a recipe for frustration. I don’t blame the editors because I regularly do enough crosswords that it’s evident that the editors do a great job. However, the constructor should’ve rethought this whole section—commitment to the bit was admirable but the top right took as much time as the rest of the puzzle. Some of the other cluing/fill was beyond what would be expected for a Tuesday, but the cross-fill for some of the proper nouns was workable to avoid issues there. Anyway. I don’t comment often but hopefully this was constructive.
Puzzle was fine, clueing/fill not so much. Theme was pretty easy.
