@Mo Seventeen years? I had to go back to my childhood in the 1960s to answer this clue. Back in the day, it was common for little girls to play with a nurse's kit which included a toy stethoscope, thermometer, reflex hammer and if you were really lucky a cap! Kits are still carried by some nurses today.
The lower left and center were the last sections for me to complete. By that time, it was 2am it seemed that 58 across was written especially for me. ("Whoa...that's too much for my brain to handle.") I really overthought those sections and it drove me cray-cray. The most frustrating clue was "British rowhouses". I kept coming back to "terraced houses" and nothing else would come to the surface of my poor brain. For all the frustration and time wasted, I thoroughly enjoyed this puzzle. I would love to see more from this constructor.
@lucky13 A doctor's office can ask for one's SSN but a patient does not legally have it supply it. Some insurance company's still use SSN's as a form of identification. And, no. None of my doctor's ask for a SSN.

Love this puzzle. There are some quirky yet very reasonable clues/answers that made me smile. Easy enough that I complete the puzzle in a reasonable time yet a few stumpers that I had to chew on.
