As someone currently packing for my trip to QuiltCon in Phoenix this week, I very much enjoyed this puzzle! For the complainers, you really didn't have to know anything about quilting to figure out BLOCKBUSTER or the other clues, (e.g. BORDER TERRIER, BATTING PRACTICE). This grid has EIGHT sports related references (not even including CANOE, the hunting reference, and BETting) and a bunch of music, entertainment and geography related answers. This was more like Easter eggs for us quilters and honestly the theme clue didn't help me at all. P.S. Always love getting to figure out whether it's INNIE or OUTIE.
I liked this very much!! Cute grid and theme and I like the black square upside down crosses. My new personal best for Wednesday puzzles.
@lawrenceb56 if I can't bring crafts, I'm not going
@Mean Old Lady BATT is also a carded preparation of fiber for spinning. I too was annoyed that it wasn't allowed! Wool batting for quilts is my favorite also, soft, warm, fluffy, lovely to hand quilt.
@Mean Old Lady many people nowadays will also do virtual quilting bees where they make blocks on a theme and will mail them around the country (and probably world)! Despite everything else it's wrought, there's a lot of community that's formed through the internet/social media. I've traveled cross country and internationally to meet sewing friends I made through Instagram. Currently at the airport about to board my flight to Phoenix for QuiltCon!
@Mean Old Lady I mean, no sandwich, no quilt ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Steph same since GOAT made sense, in the end though I guess it wouldn't actually be a bad thing to blow 🤣
@Francis haha same, and apparently now my fastest Saturday solve
@Ragland ha that's a good deep cut although from what I remember and confirmed by Spotify, Sigur Ros had almost no songs with names in English!
