The New York Times Diverse Crossword Constructor Fellowship provides mentorship and support for constructors whose backgrounds and perspectives could be better reflected in our puzzles. We want our puzzles to reflect the experiences of as many people as possible, which means publishing work that displays a wide range of cultural reference points, language usage and communities. The fellowship is for constructors who have not yet been published by The New York Times. Applications for this year's fellowship open June 15. The class will begin in September. @Vaer Fair play! Goes to show even experienced solvers can get twisted up on a Monday...
Hi solvers, you may have noticed some technical issues with our website this morning. Our team has swiftly resolved them and you should be able to get back to your games.
@The X-Phile Thanks for your comment. I took a game design class my first year there that ultimately sparked my interest in puzzles as a career. I met a lot of people there. Some of them were odd (and I'd be happy to count myself among them), but all of them were cool.
@HackDiesel I probably couldn't get that far on a skateboard anymore, but I definitely remember hearing Sum 41 in the skate shop near where I grew up. Genres are fluid, but all the bands you mention are excellent.
@Bea Also true! Great point, thank you.
@SP Your experience with the solve sounds exactly like mine. Adam's notes illuminated a lot for me and I thought this was a really slick puzzle.
