Tricky but fun puzzle! Sam, my mom and I love your description about TYPEO I tried to make the same justification for a second
Loved the theme, and the mythology reference was great, but not sure how I feel about ALEPH Beth. Not once in my 22 Jewish years on this earth have I ever pronounced, or heard anyone pronounce, Bet as Beth
This is one of my favorite themes of all time! I play the crossword for brilliance like this :)
@Diane there are ten boxes in the clue and X = 10 in Roman Numerals
loveeeed this puzzle! Had the song playing on repeat while solving the puzzle. While I of course enjoy the Xmas and other secular/christian holiday themes it was very exciting to have a theme based on my own religion today! Thanks for a wonderful puzzle Jeff and Seth! Chag Hanukkah Sameach
@Erik those circled letters are part of a different theme answer!
Fun puzzle! Easy but still needed some crossings so I really enjoyed it! My mom always sang "skinamarinky dinky dink" to us growing up (and still does because it's permanently stuck in her head) and now my grandmother sings it to my baby cousin. Thanks for the little origin lesson, Sam!
@Fictio Legis same here! which is really impressive, seeing as this was my first time trying without autocheck! (although i still did have to google a few answers lol)
I was sure the grid art was supposed to look like something from each of these movies! I don't really watch horror movies so i was certain that Freddy wore a hockey mask and the grid reminded me of that. It was also a habit if I squinted and kiiiiiinda looked like train tracks as well. I only couldn't figure out how it connected to Mamma Mia lol. Personally, i would have loved the Lego Movie answer but Mamma Mia is good too (or 2). As to Sam's point, I'm of the belief that we're here for a good time, not a long time. I always can find something to enjoy about every puzzle i complete. It's much more fun that way
great theme! When my siblings and I were younger we did a theater camp where we performed this song, and for many years "goodness gracious, GREAT balls of fire!" was an exclamation in our family
@Shane Glad I'm not the only one who thought that!
@Catherine Facts. almost threw me off the theme lol. (not really but still haha)
@Rachel R. I was a little too focused on "Bird" i knew I was looking for either disney or looney tunes based on 60A but as soon as I hit 88A I knew what i was looking at
@Shari Coats I was sure the grid art was supposed to look like something from each of these movies!
