200 Saturdays in a row for this MEREMORTAL. SKOR! This one was ARIL hard RHO to hoe. It definitely took ATOLL on me. Time to celebrate - ILLRACEYOU to the nearest ROOFTOPBAR!
@Steve L It’s edam shame.
For those of you cruciverbalists out here in the greater Boston area, come check out ‘2 Across’, the story of two train passengers solving a ‘Sadistic Saturday’ NYTimes crossword, as well as the puzzles of their own lives. Performances this weekend and next, in the town of Harvard, Mass. <a href="https://www.fivesparks.org/event/fivesparks-theater-presents-2-across/2025-11-01" target="_blank">https://www.fivesparks.org/event/fivesparks-theater-presents-2-across/2025-11-01</a>/
@HeathieJ Wordle 1,603 1/6 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I got it! Have used the same starting word for three years but once in a while forget to play. Glad my ship finally came in. I’m so sorry you went rogue today. That surely would have gotten a rise out of me!
Can someone tell me where to find the answers from the December 17 print edition contest puzzles? The paper had mentioned the solutions and winners would be in the Jan 15 or 16 Wordplay column but I didn’t see them there.
@Dave click on Quotations. It’s there. I don’t like it either. It’s a good example of crossword glue - words that appear more frequently in xword puzzles than they do in real life.
Some zesty fill! Loved the symmetry of LEGALLIMIT and LOVERSLANE. For those of you that like Acrostic puzzles, here is another ‘Aidoch Ross’ original! <a href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Qsi_qj3dXIyFYAcz6h_XTihVXaDweOMxONk8CpjRSNs/edit?usp=drivesdk" target="_blank">https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Qsi_qj3dXIyFYAcz6h_XTihVXaDweOMxONk8CpjRSNs/edit?usp=drivesdk</a> You will need to print it out and solve it the old-school way. I hope you enjoy it.
I love getting the gold star after solving but sometimes (often?) it’s after correcting a mistake or just randomly going through the alphabet to fill in the last square. I wish there was a ‘SUBMIT’ option to click when you think you have it solved. Maybe get a platinum star or an even jauntier musical celebration. Thoughts?
And I feel like William Tell Maid Marian had her t’ts to feel…
