@Jim I had the same issue. I had to use the dreaded reveal, which I so very, very rarely do. My normal pre-reveal process is to review every word and double check any weird ones. Like “STELE” being an “Editors’ concern.” I verified that meant a stone tablet with writing, which made me laugh that it was such a clever clue. I submit that ACHE/STELE is a valid solve!
