I think it's funny how often people use 'literally' wrong, and thought maybe there was some BELITTL-ing going on rather than an April Fools joke until I read the story. Fun Monday puzzle.
Re: Apocrypha I initially wrote Bible (Episcopalian, obviously). When it did not work out, I ended up at canon but thought it worth raising what I found in following up. The Apocrypha are a point of division within the various sects of Christianity and are canon to some Christians (Roman Catholics and some orthodox sects) but not canon others (Episcopalians and Protestants). I do not think NYT intended to take a stance on this schism but it's funny to think about how something like this made it past editors.
Involuntary movement is an unfortunately timed clue today in the shadow of the BAFTAs controversy.
@JayTee aware of all that. For people that feel burned by what happened though, it's probably not the kind of clue that makes them smile when solved.
@Jerry totally agree, both on being a fan of the actors and never watching an awards show.
@EnviroLawProf I had mah and went through the whole puzzle before figuring it out. Tough cross to pair it with.
@Joe it's not an encouraging feeling to fly through a crossword and come on a cross like this... Time to go through the keyboard!
