This was an excellent way to start my four day weekend. Kudos to the constructor for a puzzle where almost every clue had me filling and refilling squares. Clever all the way through, tough but fair, satisfying to close out: in short, a vintage NYT cross.

An absolutely fantastic puzzle today. I thought the cluing especially was the perfect balance for a Sunday.

This was one of the most satisfying truly difficult Saturdays in a while. Hats off!

I feel like I’m missing something obvious, but I still don’t understand DOI as emphatic agreement. Is it like “doy!” as in “duh”?
