IDEAL puzzle for a Saturday if you’re willing to TAKEASTAB at a SLEW of difficulty and misdirection. Once you’ve figured out the theme, the crossings will help you solve with EASE. Had to look up a few clues after I solved it (OBLASTS, ADENINE, ALOHAOE, DREI) but Saturdays are supposed to be ATAD hard. Wouldn’t TWEAK a thing.

I’m surprised so many people got TESTY over this puzzle. I thought it was relatively easy—perfect for a Tuesday—once I realized that paradise was both right and wrong. The only thing to SCOFF at is GELID. I had no IDEA that is a word and it sounds so INANE I shall never USE it. ps I’m a lawyer and we say PARAS all the time.

Can someone please explain HAWS? I solved the puzzle but only because of dear old George W. Bush.
