Wowza that was a work-out! Don't let the haters get you down, Katie. I'd like to thank Jethro Tull for introducing me to the term samovar. Around the same time, someone else may have introduced me to psilocybin, but I can't say for sure. Thank you for forcing everyone to spell psilocybin, Katie! Heh Heh Heh.
Hark, how I loved this puzzle! What a fabulous way to kick off May Day. There's a pen and ink drawing on a note card that has lived on my fridge for 20+ years. It reads: Our life is shorter than flowers Then shall we mourn? No, we shall dance Plant gardens Dress in colors And teach our children To make the world more beautiful Because our life is shorter than flowers. "Toltec Fragment" is the only source cited. I wanted to share this with the constructor, may your Beltane be blessed!
I will miss your humor and kind directives, Deb. Thank you for helping me become a better crossword solver. If not for you, I would still be skipping Thursdays. I wish you all good things. Happy trails!

Loved this puzzle!
Fun puzzle! I'll be humming a tune all day!
I adored this puzzle! Aplomb is now the word for the day. Bravo, Galentine!
Bravo, Jackson! Super fun solve. Last entry for me was "vault opener". I'll be chuckling about that the rest of the day. An excellent Jedi you will make...
That was good fun, thank you! Go Hawks!
Oh, that was a mind-bender! I think I may have yelled Hallelujah out loud when I finally heard the uppity tune. That was such good fun! Loved it!
I often skip Sundays as they can be such a slog (for me) but this puzzle was just the mental romp I needed, this morning. Thanks for the laughs!
Holy Cannoli! This was the most effort I've ever put into a puzzle. I started in the morning, came back in the afternoon, cheated with some of the giveaways in this column, and came back to it this evening. It took me another 40 min or so to finally complete it. Tsuris, intaglio and Usain were new to me. "I Do" is not a contract. "A kiss is not a contract, but it's very nice." (Flight of the Conchords) I'd appreciate it if someone could clarify that "wideout" is a modern term for wide receiver? I haven't followed football in a while. This puzzle was worth solving, the groans were worth the giggles.
Loved this puzzle!
Oh my stars how I struggled with the NE and SW corners! Even after hearing the uppity tune indicating my answers were correct, I stared at ST******Y for a good long while, wondering what the heck it was. A device or tool of some kind that is no longer in use? It wasn't until coming here that I realized it was a person. Gah, my brain is in ribbons. I must give a round of applause to the constructor for "current influencer" and "directive to get down". So clever!
What fun! More puzzles like this, please!
