Anybody else hear Nick Offerman’s voice in their head while reading his comments? Bravo and brava to our authors.
@Steven M. Louis Malle directed Au Revoir Les Enfants, a movie about (iirc) a Catholic school hiding a Jewish boy during the Nazi occupation. He was also Candice Bergen’s husband.
@Nora if you wore flannel while listening to it, it’s grunge. No ifs, ands, buts, or alt anything.
@Steve YES. I’m actually really ticked at this clue. They were one of the first bands that brought grunge to the forefront.
@Vaer I didn’t realize, thanks for the tip! I haven’t seen Enfants in years. I remember watching it in French class lo these many years ago. I really only knew Malle for that and for his connection to Candice Bergen. (I was a HUGE Murphy Brown fan.)
@Alana “Judith Light” over here, which I suppose shows my age.
@Leah that might be because it’s more correctly spelt “wrack and ruin.”
@Karen Ha, I thought of him too, but thought I’d really nailed it with the wording of the clue matching the number of boxes 😆
