@James B I’m probably being dense but I don’t understand the cleverness of the Midi. I solved it quickly and still don’t understand the use of color or why the vowels are bolded yet only in some of the words and not other (ie, BTS and SRS don’t have any vowels let alone a U). Can you help me out?

@Patrick J. I see how each colored section has one one vowel but it doesn’t make sense to me how it relates to the clueing. 9D has a bolded E in the clue, but then “Schlub” does not contain an E. Same with the answers Srs and BTS. It’s cute construction to have the 5 colored sections have all the same vowel, but I feel like I’m missing something with how it’s all clued and why.
