St Pete
I was like omg is this even allowed lol
Really fun for a Monday! Happy Earth Day, everyone pick up one piece of trash off the ground :)
This had me thinking sooooooooo hard but I got there! METEOR was the final piece of the puzzle for me. I was appreciating the use of Xs and Zs when I noticed the top left diagonal has ABC and the bottom right diagonal has XYZ.. sure that wasn't an accident but wish the constructor had comments today! Shout out to Jack Keroac, St Pete icon
Good childhood times with Kasey Kasem, every Saturday we would drive one+ hour to my grandma's house and back and my mom would always make us listen to his 70s on 7 show. Now I know more 70s pop culture than any millennial alive LOL! Helps me a lot in these crosswords. Yeah I'm thanking my mom on the father puzzle :P
PLANT SITTER... that was epic
Amazing debut! Incredibly fun solve .. gas station sushi will go down in history, that's just an instant classic
Flew through this one today! And love the theme :) Song of th day: WHATS THE USE? by the one and only Mac Miller
Love the blog pic today :) and shout-out to MATILDA
LOVE the Maggie / Ashlee Simpson redirect. Two amazing puzzles in a row this week :)
Everyone must be in a great Friday mood because no one is talking about ADAPTOR vs ADAPTER .. lol fun puzzle :) love REVERSE ENGINEER
never heard OATH in this context so that was a new one for me! LOVE the TNT clue
16 min below my average time today, now THATS A WRAP .. fun puzzle
Love the part of the blog about "that's exactly what they want us to think.. must be something else" LOL! That happened to me several times with this puzzle - why I love Fridays and crosswords in general. Doing them has rewired my brain to pause and think of other perspectives. In every day communication the simplest words and phrases can take on a variety of meanings. It's such a satisfying scratch for my brain itch.
Really fun puzzle even tho ERG and CREEL stumped me, but those were the tricky clues after all. Never a loss when you learn something new. Will be back for more tomorrow as always :)
Really fun Saturday! Couldn't get past IRKS at the end though, got stuck with IRES .. ah well it does fit so can't beat myself up about it! LOVE the Romeo clue
HOO BOY.. said no one ever LOL barely crawled through the finish line today
Really fun today!! But I'm a Thursday lover. It just hits on another level for me. Wouldn't have been able to crack this without the ROADs.. knew IRON LADY and TROUBADOUR so I was able to get to ROPEADOPE just messing around with the ROAD letters, that unlocked my NE corner and it was all downhill from there, no more BUMPs til I got to CITY but I figured it out :)
40 min "OVERPAR" but completed at last once I googled MYRNA and ZADIE, feel ok about those - fun puzzle, once I got EYE SOCKET it all built up from there.. started with basically nothing but GRETA
Nearly sprained my thumb rushing to type in EMMA, once a baby spice girl always a baby spice girl ❤️ amazingly fun puzzle today!!!
Who read the "study, study, study!" Clue to the tune of Money, Money, Money by ABBA? fun quick puzzle today, only got hung up around BUONO .. thought it was benne but I guess I was thinking about penne pasta haha
fun but so easy with the downs highlight revealing where the pockets were! Might not have gotten the theme without that though.. 17 min faster than average time today!
@Francis "IMHO" she's really famous to me even as a millennial so obscurity is always subjective. Everyone should look her Catwoman portrayal up.. iconic!
Picked the wrong day to get such a late start! But made in just in the Natick of time! The streak continues.. this one's for ROBIN HOOD
I always think it's AIRHEART or AERHART
LOVED this! wouldn't have gotten SNELL if it wasn't for Snell Isle in St Pete ! Took me exactly one hour today, still can't believe I solved yesterday's even tho that took me almost twice as long as today!
NORMIE, ILLINOIS is not a place? I eventually solved on crosses but that's what I wanted it to be
Omg!!! I thought I was gonna break my streak on a Monday I was stressing!!! Finally found my error, NEWBS - SAP not NEWBZ - ZAP
finished in just over 20 min, I was just locked IN on this one. Good memories of riding the bus on Kamehameha Hwy from Waikiki to North Shore.. Mahalo ❤️
Who remembers the KFC Double Down?
@Barry Ancona no I mean NORMIE - this is what my generation (millennial) calls something or someone of mainstream culture, I get what the correct answer is tho / why! Thank you!
One for the STONERS... TRUE DAT, now go have a Dorito
I knew something was up about halfway through! Daddy Long Legs and Long John Silvers... Amazing!! Love the little effect at the end.. Now make the second E in EMINEM backwards and I'll really be impressed :)
"Anyone mind if this white boy speaks a little español this evening?"
@Bill i only know this term in its LGBT context as well. Including "sea men" with the DL answer had me laughing today
Fun little Monday, love it! Plus I live in FLORIDA (!!!) and my dogs name is GROVEr
Oh this was fun fun! About halfway through everything finally started to click. I erased all my first guesses on the left side and redid everything with a new mindset and it all fell into place. Really hit the spot mentally LOL! Love ASPECT as an answer.
@Katie I may or may not have cried several times during the Masters tournament lol it's just good to see smart people existing
@B I have been to the IOLANI palace otherwise I wouldn't have known. Everyone should read into this amazing piece of history and learn what happened to the princess there.
@Sarah the Oscars for a given year always happen after the year is complete. So the movies from this year will be awarded in 2025, hope this helps.
@KandB it was my favorite answer of the puzzle ❤️
ATM was my downfall today, had ABS and couldn't connect the dots because KNOB and STES seemed plausible on the crosses - ah well, still a fun puzzle!
TSAR not CZAR is a hill I would die on, and idk OUZU or F TROOP so I embarrassingly failed on this Monday today
I love the word APHID because of the movie "The Aviator"... "Aphids are just awful little creatures!" LOL
"That's not a spoon, it's a LADLE"
This went hard for a Tuesday, but I'm not complaining! Some do like it hot... Hey, I live in Florida so I better!
I didn't realize the circles down and across went together until I was on the last one LOL not too bad of a puzzle! KNURL is a new one
Finished in half my usual time :P
Was stuck for so long on "Delivers, as a baby" !! I was sure it was OBS
This was a quick solve for me because, although i didn't know what a "spoonerism" is until today, in high school when I started "gardening" me and my BFF would combine every 2 words phrase for entertainment - many many laughs were had at some of the words we came up with. I'm not that old but this was before we had smart phones of course LOL
Alexa play tyrant by Beyonce..... ONEBYONE
