As a relatively recent crossworder I'm not ashamed to say that I wasn't even close to completing that one. 6 correct answers out of a dozen guesses when I gave up (I would have got the playwright if I knew the correct spelling of his surname!). Kudos to those who managed it.

Sorry to be "That Guy" but the MOVIE Kingpin is not about the Marvel villain, it's about a group of dumb (and dumber) bowlers. Kingpin the CHARACTER has appeared in movies, but never under that title. Kind of spoils the illustration. Fun puzzle though, quite challenging for a Sunday IMHO but I got there in the end.
