This was my first ever Sunday solve without any lookups! Not sure if that speaks to my growing acumen or the ease of this puzzle (lol), but I took a screenshot of the golden star to commemorate the occasion. Funny enough, I’m back in my hometown this weekend to check out venues for my upcoming wedding! Feels like a very APT time and place to achieve this milestone as well 🥹
Can someone please explain TOAT to me? I don’t get the answer or how it relates to the clue, but other comments suggest it might be clever wordplay. I tried Googling for hints, but it’s still not clicking (unlike a short I!)

I LOVED Millionaire Matchmaker (got hooked when a Top Chef contestant, or “cheftestant,” appeared in an episode) and would have been thrilled to see the most unlikely of my hobbies intersect - mindless reality TV and NYT crossword puzzles! But I think Sala’s instincts were right. It’s a pretty niche reference, especially since the show’s original run ended almost a decade ago. And good thing, because this was an endlessly charming grid from start to finish. Save me a stool at the Painted Lady to watch Patti if she ever returns to Bravo, though!
@Francis well said! I haven’t had the chance to visit it yet but when the Jackie Robinson museum was being constructed in NYC, they put a quote on the exterior from Barack Obama: “There is a direct line between Jackie Robinson and me standing here.” Looking forward to learning more about his extensive contributions to the Civil Rights Movement!
