Found it much easier than yesterday’s but more fun too. My 1000th puzzle according to the app!
Tough and a lot of fun. Really loved MAGICIANS and EMBROIDER. Everything I didn’t know was fairly crossed. Great Friday, thank you!!
Brilliant. Loved it. MATROYSHKA and TWISTERMAT were so fun to find. This was a grid stuffed with great answers and fantastic clues.
Solved a hair under my average but it felt a lot tougher. ROCK GUITARIST is really funny and took the theme from good to great for me. Jack PAAR is a little before my time so I struggled with that, TNUT, and TAUS all tangled together. Worth it.
SO fun. Loved GIVES IT A GO, liked all the theme answers. Really a perfect Wednesday, tricky but fair. Thank you!!
Maybe without the shaded squares and circles this would have put up some resistance. As it was, I just filled in the answers and only slowed down to hit the rebus key. Bummer :(
Fun! Satisfying and timely theme, ZEBRACOLTS over OMELETBAR was worth the trouble it took to make it work. Thanks!
Come on. This would have been a nice Wednesday or a tough Tuesday.
Happily wrote CORPUS into 6 down before I registered the question mark. So fun flipping the last 2 letters to SE!!
Great Friday. SINE is tough! Absolutely loved PWN, like most solvers I put in OWN first and found the right answer only when figuring out BIG PICTURE. Long answers were fun. NANCHERLA obviously some brutal trivia but the crosses were all totally fair. Had a terrific time :) Thanks!
This was tough for a Monday! Confidently put in ASS for 28a (bozo) and was delighted to erase it for BOOTY and LEFT BEHIND. Bonus points for ASSESS right next door.
Very easy but FABULOUS clues. Such a fun, fizzy treat. Thanks!
@Matt Foreign words in these puzzles often give me an opportunity to think about what I do know that might help. After a couple of crosses on 35A I was reminded of the common dessert panna COTTA. TUTTO, which I got mostly through crosses, reminded me both of the English word ‘totally” and the Latin phrase ‘in toto.’ I don’t really know any Italian but found those clues approachable. YMMV of course.
Great Tuesday with some zing in the fill and a really fun trick. Loved OOH BABY!
Loved it. Stared at the long crosses for a long time trying to figure out what the theme was before it hit me!
Pretty tough! I found the NE brutal but loved HOLIER once I got it. 20A was fun because so many answers fit, but DIRTYMIND fit best. Favorite part was early when I had a ton of bizarre consonants in the middle of 27D and could not find a mistake. MACGYVERS, once obvious, is fantastic. Spending the summer in Vegas for work and was happy to find RAIDERS.
So fun! 44D gave me a huge smile. Could live without MIRAMAX but on the other hand it really is ok for puzzles to have ugly words. Can’t wait for more—thank you Henry!
Awesome puzzle, had so much fun! Thank you very much!!
Fantastic! Good theme concept, chefs kiss theme answers. ANT was the cherry on top.
Killer theme, got such a kick out of it. Also loved SHEESH and TOWZA, and TIL where the name VANESSA comes from, how fun. Easily my favorite clue in what was a very very straightforward puzzle.
Fun and pretty easy. Once I got the theme, the answers filled themselves in, but they were satisfying. Loved BOY TOY, liked DAD, did not love PATOOT or ON AUTO. Thanks!
Really enjoyed this. Average time but had to work for it. Loved SWEATER WEATHER and the clue for REVERSE ENGINEER. Thanks!
@Steve L the clue is fine, but so is the feedback. As a non-OCD expert, I appreciated the comment.
Easy, breezy, beautiful. Enjoyed it a lot, would have liked it chewier though! Didn’t even see all the clues today :/
@Solomon especially bad cluing since the editors seem to have completely forgotten about Barizona, Bisconsin, Bassachusetts, and Borth Dakota.
@Alan Young reminded me of the classic AbFab drink Dom and Bom! (Not to be confused with Veuve and bourb, or the OG, Bolli Stoli.)
@Andrzej I’m a big fan of yours, but this was a Monday-level puzzle. Sorry you didn’t like it! (It wasn’t my favorite either, but I thought the difficulty was fine)
Amazing puzzle. Loved, loved, loved it.
Breezy for a Friday and quite fun. Loved FOOTLONGS. Had double act in for INDIEBANDS at first, which is all that slowed me down. Didn’t love the anagram clue.
REALLY easy but a good puzzle for Wednesday solvers. CHESTHAIR and HATERADE popped. Would have liked a little more zing.
@Stephen I was the opposite! Whiffed on Wordle today, having no memory of ever having heard of this animal, and filled LORIS in tonight with one cross :D
Wouldn’t have gotten MONSTRO if I hadn’t seen The Substance. Favorite answer of the week!
@Patrick really? Can you cite any sources?
@Bill “One man’s trivia is another man’s graduate degree” is such a good way of putting it. “Trivia” always chafes. What are we filling in here if not general knowledge?
@Jake G 30 minutes for a Saturday puzzle is fantastic.
@Erik i have some experience in the field myself and i think it has to be allowed because it’s sometimes true. Not all mocap suit components, but some, and that’s enough, especially for an audience that doesn’t care about the distinction!
@Steve L the original clue was probably “more than one ikea.” Give the editors some credit.
