@Petrol I’m curious how you pronounce PECAN that you think is so obvious? I know of three commonly used pronunciations: pih-CAN, pih-CAHN, and PEE-can.
For those griping about ECOTEUR, may I recommend the fantastic novel Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton? Perhaps we can direct some griping away from vocabulary and onto the deleterious global effects of late stage capitalism. (But despite that somewhat snarky recommendation, it’s actually a gripping and excellently written book!)

I have never lived (or visited!) where pecans are a crop…but somehow I’ve landed on “PEE-can pie”, but “butter pih-CAHN ice cream”….
Smooth and lovely Sunday puzzle, but that camel article linked at the end of Wordplay blew my mind!
