Petition to disable comment recommendations until the morning, so that the same group of 10PM ET solvers don’t continuously push each other’s “fun Tuesday puzzle…on a Saturday!” gripes to the top of the list every other weekend. This was a perfectly good and fair Saturday puzzle, thanks Adrian.
@Jonathan Exactly. From the column: “Solvers tend to bristle at Naticks, but” Nope, just end the sentence there.
@CrispyShot Ahh, makes sense thank you. I was thinking gold/diamond teeth for the latter. Clearly not a car guy.
@Richard Couldn’t agree more. Awful.
Agree with what seems to be the consensus…solid theme, but a half dozen brutal trivia crossings. Why is “Senatorial greeting” AVE?
Make 55/56/57 perhaps 10% less (insert your own pejorative) and this is a classic. I got it eventually, but that isolated rectangle ruined the puzzle for me.
Tough but fair for me. What is the significance of a TAILGATE having grills and grilles? What is the distinction there?
Excellent puzzle. Makes up for last Friday’s absurdity. But I still don’t understand why streakers are “charged” with TASERS?
@G I did read it, I still don’t understand the use of CHARGE as a verb there and thought I was missing something. For me you just “tase” someone with a taser
@Anonymous I didn’t assess the puzzle’s difficulty. I just said it was good and fair. Saturday puzzles will, and should, vary in difficulty. And that variance frequently elicits 10PM ET snark. I am typically a morning solver, but happened to get this one done on Friday night. Did I solve it faster than usual? Sure. But I still enjoyed doing so.
