A streak is an albatross. Mine has been around my neck for 1279 days but now I am free at last.

Can we all stop with the insertion of twenty blank lines followed by some emu quip?

@Gary K Oh come on man, you think professional musicians don’t type Bb or F# when communicating by email or text?

Reminds me of the SNL Olympia Cafe (“cheeburger cheeburger”) sketch where the Coke salesman got them to switch mid-sketch and “No Coke! Pepsi!” became “No Pepsi! Coke!”

@kkseattle I can explain what she means, because I sometimes do the same thing. Rather than enter in any guesses, or spend any time on decoding trickier clues (ones with wordplay or requiring a modicum of thought), you skim quickly through the clues (in order) and enter only answers that jump out at you as absolute gimme’s (for example, from today, [Bill ___ the Science Guy]).

One does not get a six-pack of IPAS. And don’t give me some horse pucky like “It could be a sampler pack…”

Two entries really smelled bad to me in this puzzle: INFODEMIC and TAX BITES. It pleases me that the Wordplay article linked to the OED entry for the latter, as it showed the usage frequency of “tax bites” as 30 parts per billion. By comparison, the acceptable level of lead in drinking water is 15 ppb… Put another way, if one were to read 10000 words per day, one would expect to see “tax bites” once every nine years or so. I.e., NO ONE EVER SAYS THIS IN REAL LIFE.

@Mark Cousins If your disagreement was actually respectful you would have followed the link and read that the IETF: “…standardized the use of ASCII for internet data and was accepted as a full standard in 2015” and not belabored the point.

Best thing about today’s comment section is that I didn’t see a single “emu,” present comment excluded. Hope that trend continues. Forever. I suppose we should be on the lookout for CCF as a “Tsp alternative” in a future puzzle, ya know, because they’re both volumetric measurements…
