This will be amusing to most of you-but here goes…. Today is my first time completing a NYT Sunday puzzle. I started solving the Monday puzzles and progressed to Tuesday, and Wednesday. Reading the comments, I’ve come to the conclusion these puzzles are easy for most. They sure aren’t for me but I enjoy the challenge. And I’m happy to complete the Sunday puzzle! Hurray!
Sending Mr. Will Shortz best wishes for a speedy recovery.
@Janine Sending you best wishes for a successful procedure and a quick recovery
I never thought I would be able to say this about a Sunday puzzle…..but I thought this was fun. Not easy (for me) …but for the first time I enjoyed it . I have a hunch I’ll be pulling my hair out next Sunday so I’m going to savor the moment!! Hahaha
As someone fairly new to doing NYT crosswords, my understanding is the puzzles are ranked in difficulty as the week progresses. The easiest on Monday and puzzles increasingly harder each day of the week. I think this particular crossword is very clever but probably better suited for later in the week.
Thank you for this crossword puzzle on a cold winter night. I enjoyed this puzzle.
Thank you both for replying. I followed your instructions and made the changes. However, the letters weren’t incorporated into the puzzle. I wonder if the puzzle was considered to be solved and thus no changes could be made…?
I do not understand the instructions provided in today’s notes to enter more than one letter in a square. I am using my IPhone to do the puzzle so I used the instruction for IOS by pressing on the appropriate square . Nothing happened…?? Can I ask for help with this? How does one enter more than one letter for a rebus? Thank you!
@Nora Many thanks for taking the time to explain this. This rookie solver appreciates your help!
@Erick Another Newbie here.. the one tip I can pass along is to take a break when stuck. When i return, I find more answers. Sometimes multiple breaks are required!
