As a Korean-American, I was surprised but pleased to see APPA as an answer. That said: I would agree with commenters who think this answer is a bit obscure for a Tuesday puzzle.
Finished in a snappy 15:37. Very happy to see ORGAN TRANSPLANT cross with STANLEY CUP because those two answers have a lot of meaning for me. Not only am I a huge hockey fan (I’ve touched the cherished chalice several times!) … but as someone with a rare, incurable hereditary kidney disease, I was fortunate to have received a transplanted kidney this past February. (As a side-note public service announcement: Be an organ donor! www.organdonor.gov )
@Hope Levav Thanks for sharing about your child. Certainly, I hope you’re all doing well. I have a rare disease myself: “autosomal dominant tubulointerstitial kidney disease,” or ADTKD. (My public service announcement to all: If you run across someone with an unknown kidney disease, have them undergo a genetic test for ADTKD; learn more about the ailment at www.rarekidney.org). Anyway: I finished in a zippy 10:25. 🙂
@B Agree that it was an easy Saturday (9:31 for me) … and that there were too many sports references. Good thing I follow sports 😁
@Laura I agree, this was easy for a Saturday. I finished in 9:46.
@momonjava Same here. In fact: • This is my first-ever Saturday puzzle done in less than 10 minutes (9:47). • I finished this week’s Friday and Saturday puzzles faster than the Wednesday and Thursday ones.
Count me among the handful of commenters who said this puzzle seemed pretty easy for a Saturday. I finished in 9:47.
@Mean Old Lady Your fun fact about me: I’m a lifelong Chicagoan who’s been a Toronto Blue Jays fan since the club’s debut in 1977 … so I nailed the Dave STIEB answer.
@Allen I agree. Despite never having heard of “dogsbody,” I finished in a snappy 7:58.
