I've never commented before I've done the crossword before. I just wanted to pass on my best wishes for a full a speedy recovery to Will Shortz. He's responsible for such an enjoyable part of the day. Get well soon Will.
Ice see what you did there.
Took this Irishman too long to get HECK. Far too many mild expletives in my vocabulary.
What a drag. Clunky fill with bad cluing. College nicknames, obscure people.
When I thought I had finished this I realized I had a BONER, I stared at it for ages but whatever I tried it wouldn't fit. One of the reason I like Sundays is that I don't try to beat a particular time so there is no rush and I was able to just play with different combinations until it all came together. Very enjoyable crossword, even for those across the pond.
@Andrzej I come to the comments for comments like these. Never change.
@TMD It was the pejorative ERSE that did it for me. Just let it die already, it's St. Patrick's weekend. Overall, very painful cluing and I don't feel like I leaned anything.
Met Someone. Excellent clue. Lovely ten word today. Bravo.
@NYC Traveler Throw in some brand of sponge and were naticking all the way to the bank.
What a great puzzle with great fill. Not a college nickname to be seen. North East was a thing of beauty. ELOPER clue was perfect next to ROAMING. Off to use SPARGE in a conversation.....
@Jacqueline A Crossword museum should require one to walk around it at least once before getting properly into it. It should be in Reno, Eire, Mali or Ames. Rita Ora and Yoko Ono to open it. What am I missing?
@Steve L Wow, the things you learn every day.
No water, no sugar. Try buttermilk instead.
@Captain Quahog Do you own a dictionary?
Excellent puzzle. No obscure college sports references. Lovely
@Ιασων Totally agree, hard to like the clues when the answers are dull.
@Andrzej Few Polish or Irish words instead would throw the cat amongst the pigeons.
@Nick Thank you. I also like my English xwords to be in English.
@Logan All finished in a good time and I still don't have a clue what the theme is.
@Barry Ancona Surely by definition a cab cannot be a commute? A commute is a regular trip with a commuted ticket fare. Hence commuters are those that have a monthly or annual ticket. Or am I wrong?
@Moshe I don't have those squiggles on my keyboard.
