After a few thousand puzzles, solving the daily crossword feels all too often like going through the motions in its predictability. And yet, solving the 4x4 section in the centre today felt oddly thrilling, like going out on a limb somehow. I even felt vulnerable when I typed in my first tentative guess… and electric when it fell together. Absolutely PotY material for me. Thank you to the David clan!

Obligatory not USian, but oddly enough knew that Dial was soap but had never heard of the phrase “Don’t Touch That Dial”. Is it some variation of “Don’t Fix What Ain’t Broke”, perhaps? All in all a very enjoyable and breezy Sunday - looking forward to more like it.

One of the most elegant and smooth, pleasurable puzzles I’ve had the good fortune to play recently. Kudos to Ms Baik.

@Paul Turner Oh ok thank you so much, that makes so much more sense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dial on a TV haha.
