Today we have people complaining that this puzzle was "too hard" for a Wednesday. One of them says they don't want to spend Wednesday morning that way. Which begs the question: Why are you spending your morning that way if you hate it? Stick to Monday where you'll be safe from the dreaded thesaurus.
I completed the puzzle in under 25 minutes, but I did find it challenging to get started. I liked it. For those complainers who just "want to have fun", there are 5 days a week devoted to you. The most challenging and, in my opinion, most fun games have already been removed from the NYT. Thursday through Saturday, and sometimes Sunday, is all those of us who look for a challenge have left.
Is 'acai' the new 'oreo'? Healthier, but not as tasty.
This was a fairly easy puzzle for a basketball fan, but I thought it was creative and fun to solve. Unlike one commenter here, I think it's fine for puzzles to occasionally stray into less "universal" areas. Stretch a little!
There goes 30 minutes of my life I will never get back. I finally came here to learn that the rebus wasn't allowed. It should have been.
I thought it was a clever puzzle, and thankfully no oreos. I was beginning to think that was a requirement.
So many people are obsessed with solving times, day/difficulty matches, and streaks. That's okay, but why blame the puzzle maker if you just don't get the theme? Maybe you could learn something new! I find that Monday and Tuesday puzzles are usually boring. Today was an exception, for me.
Like a clock with hands, a timely puzzle. Very enjoyable.
Very nice debut, though I did set a new best Friday time with this one.
Tough puzzle. Travel in Greece bailed me out (Nemea).
@Chris There is a lack of creativity and knowledge of the world outside one's hard shell in these comments.
The force was strong with this one.
@David Totally agree! This is an unwelcome and very rude implementation of a banner, with no way to minimize.
@Puzzled Brit Bet you got 'panda', which stumped me a bit.
@Bill I went back and saw that I'd dipped into this one already. Fun!
Cute, maybe, but not very interesting and not up to a Saturday degree of difficulty. I hope next week will be better.
@Jill Same here, in fact I set a new personal best time with this one.
@Elsie I agree this is unnecessary and very badly done. An ad blocker can solve the problem. There are free ones out there. Also, according to the instructions here, you can send a note about technical issues (for all the good it might do): To get help with a technical issue, please scroll down to the bottom of the puzzle page and tap “Contact us.” This will help you send a message to support, where issues can be diagnosed and solved.
@SBK Yes, in English any noun can be verbed.
@pmom I'm from the northeast and I only arrived at 'bleh' because I had the LIPO/EPA cross.
@Dakota I'm a boomer and David Bowie and Drew Barrymore were the only ones that I have even heard of. I had to work around the others, shows that were on in my time but I did not bother to watch (except for Mad Men). Suffix for a verb? Don't even get me started!
@B Sorry you must phrase this reply in the form of an answer. :)
@Molly in Wake Forest I had 'Arp' thinking I was clever, and then the light dawned.
Today's mini caused me to fail the speed benchmark, but it was fun anyway.
Not being a fan of sitcoms, ever, I disliked this puzzle. Television clues are ruining everything for me, even Jeopardy.
@Steve L So report the bug(s) and move on.
@Marlene Something for everyone, and upon reflection, not a bad thing.

@Megan My fingers also did this to me.
@K Barrett They did away with the more difficult puzzles, and now they seem to be diluting the crossword, which is mostly what I pay for with my Games subscription. I like the Bee, but I mostly save it for waiting rooms and things of that nature. Getting to Genius is relatively easy but generally takes me longer than a crossword. Getting the Queen Bee is tough. They sprinkled in some badges to provide some additional motivation to click and hook you into more silly apps.
