ANTEGG crossing with GOB was my sticking point. Had MOB And had never heard of Thai tidbits anywhere near the right letters.

Very annoying gimmick! (i spent too long trying to find out how to turn the locks and found wordplay quite unhelpful). Eventually worked it out after reading other comments.

UGG is not an Australian boot brand. It was a generic Australian name for a type of sheepskin shoe which was later registered in the USA and Australian small businesses threatened with copyright breach.

So annoyed that I failed because I wrote the circled letters as a rebus rather than just first letter. (I did see the bias sequence too but didn’t rule out the rebus. )

Really irritating puzzle with such obscure words: Haterade, Yoink, and Attar/Ittar with both crossing to Ace/Ice. End of my longest streak.

@Mike Thanks! I was stuck for 40 minutes at the end with everything triple checked and no gold star - have never heard it called anything but bocce (and there was a definition of noser that also seemed to possibly fit!)

I eventually got all the rebuses except it accepted the non rebus answer trex for 116A? Was this an exception to these doubles requiring a rebus?
