I've been thinking for a long time the the venerable NYT crossword is gradually getting dumbed down, testing knowledge of pop culture more than words and wordplay. And two nail polish brands - really?

Didn't like this puzzle. Some answers were things or people I've never heard of. Saturdays are always harder, but this was ridiculous.

I did this puzzle on a PC, not a phone. Never got the upside-down words thing. Did not like.

Doing the puzzle on a PC, and the letters in the rebus are so small I couldn't even read them. Poor design. Sorry to give a bad review to someone's debut puzzle, but do better next time.
