I'm just gobsmacked, in a good way. Love the twist(s).
I'm Team Meep Meep. Not sure how it's even a debate.
Didn't expect to finish this one in under 20 minutes when I first started it. But you get a salad dressing, a French football star with a weird name, Mike Hammer's Mickey __, and a five-letter star, and suddenly there's a foothold in all the quadrants! Less than half my Saturday average! This certainly hit my sweet spot of eclectic oddball interests.
Almost, but not quite a personal best. Probably could have beaten my own record if I hadn't stopped to admire a few entries that got filled in by themselves on the crossings. I enjoyed every bit of this puzzle, especially the longer-than-Sunday-usual entries that were still clued very accessibly (to me). Made me feel super smart. I knew it was going to be a good day when it started out with the crab pot show in 1A.
That's going to be extra confusing for those in the UK and other countries that drive on the left. They go clockwise around the traffic circles.
A new personal best for me in the Sunday Crossword! Under 20 minutes today. And it was fun, too! A high point in an otherwise miserable week in post-Beryl Houston.
@Chris Not necessarily, with granny eyesight. Didn't even see the arrows until you mentioned it.
