Nope. Read the hint blog three times and it still didn’t make sense. Solved on the crosses, went back and reread the clues. Still doesn’t make sense. Too gimmicky, as in gimmicky for gimmicks-sake, instead of being actually clever.

@Cassandra. I agree!!! STEAL means to take while GIVE means to bestow. This puzzle, cute as it is, does the reverse, which is very unintuitive.

I would have enjoyed this more if there was consistency in the paired clue answers. For example, 39A is the first two and last three of 17A. But 65A is the fist one and last three of 49A. The others are similarly chaotic. My brain enjoys a puzzle, but not when it's clues are seemingly random chaos. Didn't hate it, but felt like it violated an unspoken rule.
