First time I'm moved enough to comment how amazing this puzzle is! Great job!

I thought it might have been just me, but I can see by the comments this was a rough one. I don't mind working for it, but the crossings were tough and/or weirdly clued. I love a clever clue as much as the next person, but please give us a toehold somewhere.
