Liked the puzzle except “Go IPO” is not a thing. It’s either “go public” or IPO. “Go initial public offering” doesn’t make sense and isn’t used as a phrase. Tripped me up because it was so awkward.
Great wordplay. Stared 5 minutes at my cross of UPS / POTHERE before I realized the clue was a different kind a carrier. Long week, I guess!
Nice theme, but BLEH around the edges.
A whole puzzle centered around BOOM, ROASTED???? Who even says that?
@Jake G. What’s the point of the message board?
@Steve L. Not my experience. 2x a Monday time. SLEEKEN and others were a bit awkward.
At first I guessed LESSEES as the revealer before solving any other clues, thinking maybe there’d be a fun puzzle with no E’s. Not the most successful strategy. Still a speedy Thursday.
Fun puzzle. Smoother than Tuesday and Wednesday this week IMHO.
Never heard of jodphurs. Might never again either.
@Paul disagree. It’s a turd of a Friday.
Nice Friday cluing. ART LAB was a new term to me and was a relatively tricky cross with CUBIT, but smooth puzzle otherwise.
@Dave S. Same here. With bad allergies (or a cold - who knows these days), snottily fit just fine.
@DW—Tuesday is still the toughest puzzle of the week. Go figure.
@Eli Edwards. I was told there’d be no math! Speedy, but fun!
@Sarah was going to post the same thing.
@Bob SE corner was a streak-breaker for me. Too many lookups to consider it an official solve in my book. First one in nearly 1.5 yrs (April 6, 2024 NW corner was the last).
@Paul I had AFFILIATE in first pass until I did the crosses.
@Jay For sure. If my fingers were faster, it felt like it could have been <3 min solve. Alas.
@Selective Walrus I was fine with STAR POWER, but I still don’t get CARD SHARK. Maybe I don’t play enough card games but felt odd to me. The Bolero clue / answer was also rough. NW corner was brutal. Otherwise, found the rest to be chewy but fine.
@Steve L. Re: vibing with the constructor on a given day, I’m not sure it’s purely a function of age or duration of solving, but since you asked…regular solver for 6.5 yrs. An “old” 45 y-o. Avg Wed solve time 8:47 vs Mon at 4:47 over LTM. Today’s solve was avg for me and the xwstats crowd, I guess. Not sure of the demographic that syncs to that site. I just recently discovered it.
